Today the 8th of Nov, NZ MPI has depreciated a selection of Halal templates through their AP eCert portal and put in place a selection of new templates.
From a technical perspective, because the template ID has changed, this will require manual intervention from our support team to ensure the new templates are set up ready to use. Please reach out to our support team at prodoc@tradewindow.io or call us on +64 9 836 4200 if you receive an error submitting any Halal certificate requests to MPI and receive an ‘Invalid Template’ response.
This will incur a once-off charge to the tune of 20 minutes (of our hourly rate) per new template we create. Most exporters will require the NZH100/600, however if you export to United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, or Kuwait, these will require their own templates.
Effectively MPI are changing the need for a Halal organisation specific template towards a template where the Halal organisation is referenced on the template itself based on data supplied.
The depreciated templates are on the left, where the replacement certificates are on the right:
Meat (Depreciated) | Meat (New)
HALAL200 | HALAL201 | HALAL300 | > | NZH100 |
HALAL301 | HALAL500 | HALAL501
AEH301 | AEH501 | AEH100 | ||
IDH201 | IDH301 | IDH401 | > | IDH100 |
KWH201 | KWH301 | KWH501 | > | KWH100 |
Dairy (Depreciated) | Dairy (New)
HALAL603 | HALAL604 | HALAL606 | > | NZH600 |
AEH604 | AEH606 | > | AEH600 | |
IDH604 | IDH501 | > | IDH600 | |
KWH603 | KWH604 | KWH606 | > | KWH600 |
Unfortunately, this has resulted in some disruption, however in the long term we believe this is an excellent step in the right direction to simplifying the raising of these certificates.
